Who we are

Bright Higher Institute Elak-Oku

Bright Higher Institute Elak-Oku (BHI) is a private higher education institution in Elak, Oku Sub-Division, Bui Division, in the North West Region of Cameroon. It was provisionally authorised by the Ministry of Higher Education on 14 October 2026 to train students for the Higher National Diploma.

BHI is promoted by Bright Pharma Company Ltd and works alongside VTI-BHCE, our vocational institute approved by MINEFOP. Together they offer a clear path from vocational certificate to HND, Bachelor's and Master's studies, with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and civic engagement woven into everything we teach.

Milestones so far

2025

First internships and first graduation

Our first batch trained at PMI Nkwen and graduated in Elak-Oku.

2026

International partnerships

ESD seminars in Douala and Oku with our German partners under the ASA Programme, and a mission to Germany.

9 September 2026

Ministry inspection

A team from the Ministry of Higher Education inspected the institute in Elak.

14 October 2026

MINESUP authorisation

Provisional authorisation for the creation and opening of Bright Higher Institute Elak-Oku in six HND fields.

2026/2027

Admissions open

We welcome our first HND students and a new vocational intake.
